bellamy acknowledging that he made a mistake doesnt really make up for killing all those people

No, it doesn’t. But it was the verbal confirmation for the audience that his redemption arc, which by the way has always been consistently way longer than any other (white) character on this show, is over. Bellamy had a hand in the massacre of an army, yes. He was also the only one of that group who tried to spare the wounded. He tried to fix things by trying to save Lincoln, Kane, and Sinclair, but instead was chained to a rock and beat up by his sister. From then on out, Bellamy was visibly shown to be wracked with guilt and remorse. Failing to forgive him for what he did to an army that would have attacked once Lexa died and Ontari became commander, btw, but not calling out Octavia for domestic abuse, Clarke for genocide and like 3 massacres, etc, shows your true colours more than it shows Bellamy’s.
