i’m really Tired™ of seeing people make posts about how the grounders are these harp-strumming peaceful little angels who have never done anything wrong ever, and therefore a) the arkers are demons, and b) the is no reason for any of the arkers to be wary of them. so, here, have a list:

• speared jasper in 101
  
• killed roma and multiple other delinquents in s1
• tortured murphy during his absence between 104-110
• sent a virus into the dropship camp to kill/weaken the delinquents in 110
• take children onto the battlefield and train them to be killers (as evidenced by tris’ existence & kill marks seen in 112)
• sent an army of 250 trained and armed soldiers to kill ~80 unarmed teenagers in 113
• their entire societal motto is “blood must have blood” like?
• killed ark guards in 2a
• cast lincoln out of his society & would have apparently killed him if he went back to his village bc he spent time with octavia
• kill/abandon mutated children (as evidenced by the kid jaha meets in the desert & emori in s2)
• strung raven up and planned to cut her hundreds of times before stabbing her to death (with no actual evidence of wrongdoing) in 209
  
• put a kill order on lincoln in s3 bc he? wanted to help his friends not die in mount weather? 
  
• prevented arkadia from becoming self-sustaining in 3a by restricting their access to water and crop land (and let’s not talk about the historical context of those sorts of actions shall we?)
• their method of governance involves a group of children being trained to kill each other, and then murdering each other in a cheap knock off of the hunger games until only one is left
• luna was considered a “stain on the blood line” and a “coward” because she didn’t want to participate in the above murder fest
• killed a bunch of arkers from farm station (including multiple children)  unprovoked when they landed in ice nation territory.
• apparently kicking ambassadors who disagree with you off of buildings is socially acceptable
• apparently spearing the leaders of opposing clans in front of an audience is socially acceptable
• if they have a political issue, their way of dealing with it is?? to have a fight to the death?? ok??
• blew up mount weather and killed ~40 people

i’m not in any way saying that the arkers are by contrast peace-loving hippies, and that the grounders don’t have just as much reason to be wary of them (ie: the flares, the bridge, ring of fire, finn, tondc, the 3a massacre etc). but please, let’s not pretend that the grounders have never done anything wrong, that their society is built on peace and love, and that the arkers (who are our main characters) have no reason to distrust them or be wary of their methods. can we just stop with this nonsense.
