As for representation the 100 isn’t that great at it. The amazing lesbian relationship between Clark and Lexa is barely explored, feel fake forced one sided and rushed until season 3. Until lexus death it looks like Clark only cares because it’s how she can survive and create political alliances for her people.

It’s “gilded” representation just the same way bellamy is basically portrayed as a white guy, (his sister is played by a white girl).

You’ve got blonde hair blue eyed main character Clarke, and remember Flynn who was in a shitty tv romance with Clarke for the first half of season 1. Who Litterally caused the death of two characters in episode 1 but let’s make him the starting hero just because white boy.

Group 1 was Clarke Flynn jasper and octavia, bellamy was set up as a bad guy.

Litterally all of the black characters have been killed off or turned into villans,

Wells is one of the first killed. Pike has no character development and even though from his perspective he’s protecting people that’s all off screen.

Then jaha goes from leader to crazy super Villin.

Sinclair, killed by emerson, a dude who ties up everyone else and is killed by a computer chip.

The Asian male character monty is portrayed so stereotypically.

And we all have to feel oh so bad for poor jasper. No matter how many times he fucks up he lost his girlfriend of 3 months so let’s all feel bad for him.

As for one of the shows redeeming qualities in the relationship between Brian and miller,I would be willing to bet money miller is the next death, though Brian shouldn’t feel to safe either.

Just like Clarke gets the most attention on screen Murphy gets the most attention from the writers. He actually gets a story, a character arc. You can actually see how being on the ground has affected him,how his relationships with people change him.

Don’t get it twisted there are a few tokens, but this is still a white show for white teens.
