Newfoundland is extreme, just go to NB or NS and you’ll be set, cost of living is like half what it is in Ontario. Currently feeling your pain tho holy shitThat’s good to know, the maritimes are like plan C. They’re so small, but I would way rather live there than the prairies, cause, no. I’m almost annoyed that I grew up in Vancouver because now I never want to leave, but I couldn’t afford an apartment downtown right now even if my expenses were nothing but rent.
20-25k a year for a no bedroom apartment is cheap at this point and that’s not even including utilities, food, transportation.
You’re in ON? Is it about the same?
I’m in Ottawa, so it’s not nearly on the same level as Vancouver because that shit is RIDICULOUS. It’s not cheap, but like right now I have pretty nice 1 bedroom for $850 a month. Toronto is more on par with Vancouver than Ottawa, but let’s be real nothing compares to Van. I used to live in NB and I can confirm that if you want opportunities of any kind career-wise, the maritimes are a tough place to be. Halifax is fantastic, though. Really great city with loads of opportunities but not outrageously expensive. That’s my plan right now if I ever want to be able to own my own home, tbh…
